Flow Analysis
Horizontal Wellbore Optimization
Regent utilizes a unique coupled wellbore-to-reservoir flow model to evaluate and design a variable slot configuration along a horizontal wellbore. This simple multi-phase model is used for effectively controlling the outflow or inflow distribution of a fluid. Normalized steam distribution can be difficult at the best of times let alone along long horizontal wellbores, therefore Regent can help in determining the best optimization strategy for steam injection distribution. Regent’s model is also capable of effectively controlling the radial resistance, through specific slot design variability along the horizontal wellbore, to provide preferential inflow control and delay the cresting and breakthrough of bottom water, while maximizing recovery. Regent has a method of mathematically engineering control of the skin factor (resistance to inflow or outflow) of the manufactured slot density along the horizontal wellbore, from heel-to-toe, to help control cresting of bottom water or control outflow distribution of steam or fluids.
