Sieve Data Analysis – Slot Width Modeling
Regent Energy's engineering technology team utilizes pertinent particle size distribution/sieve data obtained from reservoir core analysis, to accurately calculate the optimum slotted liner sand control slot width. Regent has developed a proprietary slot width model, which is based on a combination of theoretical derived algorithms coupled with empirical information to provide a custom designed slot width for sand control. This modeling program identifies a range of slot width specifications such as, maximum slot width, minimum slot width, seamed slot width, and optimum slot width. The natural bridging tendency of in-situ particles, pore space structure and packing size, and estimation of fines and clay present is also estimated and calculated. Regent's slot width modeling program is also able to estimate the optimum gravel pack size requirements for sand control. The benefit of engineering a proper slot width is the ability to get the proper sand control, Regent's proprietary model allows for this to be achieved.
